Bangladesh's one of the most popular player, Pacer, Mashrafi Bin Mortuza has been nominated as the captain of Dhaka Gladiator. He has expressed his gratitudes to Management for the selection. He said, Dhaka has given me so much respect. I just come back from injury and my recent performance was not that great. No other team even didn't bother to call a prize for me, while Dhaka bought me from auction. Again, the management has confidence on my ability. I am really thankful to them. BPL is the right platform for me to come back to national team. I am confident, I will do well.

Positive Response, BPL Ticket Selling started

BPl Tickets counter has been open for public yesterday. It has got positive repose from public. Shehub Trading aare selling BPL tickets through 23 counters  bank counters nationwide. It has been estimated that around worth of 10 Lacs BDT tickets has been sold at first day. Official figure is not available yet.

বাংলাদেশ প্রিমিয়ার লিগ (বিপিএল)’র টিকিট দর্শকদের হাতে পৌঁছে দেওয়ার জন্য ২০টি বুথ খুলেছে কর্তৃপক্ষ । আগ্রহীরা নির্দিষ্ট বুথ থেকে নির্ধারিত মূল্য দিয়ে টিকিট সংগ্রহ করতে পারবেন।

BPL Tickets will be available online

BPL tickets will be open to public from 30th January. However, it will be available on-line from Thursday. Sihab Trading has got the right for ticketing.


Mr. Selim, The President of Sihab Trading said, they have got the right at a price of 45 crore Taka. 20 ticketing booths in Dhaka will sell tickets. Tickets will be available online at east.com.bd as well. (Website available)

বাংলাদেশ প্রিমিয়ার লিগের (বিপিএল) প্রথম আসরের টিকেট ৩০ জানুয়ারি থেকে পাওয়া যাবে। তবে অনলাইনে টিকেট পাওয়া যাবে বৃহস্পতিবার থেকে। বুধবার মিরপুর শের-ই-বাংলা জাতীয় ক্রিকেট স্টেডিয়ামে অনুষ্ঠিত এক সংবাদ সম্মেলনে এই তথ্য জানিয়েছে ৪৫ কোটি টাকায় টিকেট বিক্রির স্বত্ব কিনে নেয়া শিহাব ট্রেডিং।

Destiny Group is all set to become the title sponsor of the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League, no deal has been signed yet. Once the agreement is signed, BPL will be renamed as Destiny Baisakhi BPL 2012. We might get official confirmation on 28 January.

গতকাল চিটাগাং কিংস তাদের লোগো উন্মোচন করেছেন। মিডিয়া সাংবাদিকদের সাথে এ অনুষ্ঠানের কিংসের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ব্যা ক্তিবর্গ উপস্থিত ছিলেন। মাহামুদুল্লাহ রিয়াদ, বাংলাদেশ দলের সহঅধিনায়ক কে চিটাগাং কিংসের অধিনায়ক নির্বাচন করা হয়েছে। খালেদ মাহমুদ সুজন, প্রধান কোচ, অস্টেলিয়ান মাইকেল বেভান কে ব্যা টিং কোচ  আর ডিন জোন্স কে টেকনিকাল ডিরেক্টর নিয়োগ দেয়া হয়েছে। বাংলাদেশ দলের সাবেক অধিনায়ক, চট্রগ্রামের সন্তান মিহাজুল আবেদীন নান্নু দলের সাথে ব্র্যান্ড এম্বাসেডর হিসেবে থাকবেন।

খালেদ মাহমুদ জানান, তাদের পরিকল্পনার ৯৫% খেলোয়াড় তারা নিতে পারেছেন বলে মনে করছেন তিনি।

চিটাগাং কিংস সিএইও, সামির কিউ চৌধুরী, চট্রগ্রামবাসীর প্রতি আহবান জানিয়েছেন দল কে সমর্থন দিতে। তার দল বিপিএল ছাড়া ও চট্রগ্রামের ক্রিকেটে উন্নয়ন জন্য কাজ করবেন বলে জানান।  চট্রগ্রামের ক্রিকেট ঐতিহ্য  কে পুনরায় জাগিয়ে তোলার ও ঘোষণা দেন তিনি।

Nasir got the Highest among locals

The hype might have been about Twenty20 superstars like Shahid Afridi and Chris Gayle being sold for the highest prices, but it was the handful of local cricketers who walked away happiest from the players' auction of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) that was held yesterday.

The six franchises filled up their squads, quite content with the four-and-a-half hours of bidding taking place at the Radisson Hotel in the city where player earnings in the country got a massive boost with Nasir Hossain racking up Tk 1.68 crore.

Nasir, who was snapped up by Khulna Royal Bengals, was over the moon in his instant reaction. "I was at practice so I couldn't catch it live. Our team official Pavel bhai told me about the price I drew. I am really very happy, I can't really tell you what it's like," he said from the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur where he was training with his Dhaka Premier League club Gazi Tank.
