The on-going Afridi drama continues!! Now the Dhaka Gladiators has sent a press statement regarding the media speculation.
BDNEWS 24 reports,
In a press statement on Friday, the Gladiators
said, "It has been observed that there is confusion with Dhaka
Gladiator's foreign cricketer, Shahid Afridi's availability for the
first edition of Bangladesh Premier League.
"This is to
inform all that it has always been mentioned by the BPL Governing Body
that Afridi will be only available on February 28 and 29 and the Dhaka
franchise was well aware of the situation.
"The former
Pakistan skipper not being available for BPL 2012 is only a rumour as
both Afridi and his agent have confirmed about his presence for Dhaka
Gladiators on the mentioned dates."
The media manager
of the Gladiators, Minhaz Uddin Khan, told bdnews24.com over phone that
the franchise totally disregarded media reports to the contrary and said
that both Afridi and spinner Saeed Ajmal would be available on the
aforesaid dates after the ODI series with England in the UAE.
He
added that the players' national cricket board (PCB) was aware of the
matter and had no objections to their playing the inaugural edition of
the BPL, which is modelled on the successful Indian Premier League.
AFRIDI he is not such a good player. Then why is price is so much.Ilike SAED AJMAL more than AFRIDI.Dhaka GLADIATORS is in a good position they have won one.I think they only need the Spinner SAED AJMAL.This is What i think.
